Labor organization represents 8,000 janitors, security officers, healthcare workers across the state
MILWAUKEE – Today, the 8,000 janitors, security officers and healthcare workers of the SEIU Wisconsin State Council announced their endorsement of Chris Larson for Milwaukee County Executive in the February 18 primary ahead of the April 7 general election. The SEIU Wisconsin State Council endorses candidates who will fight for issues important to working people.
“From a $15 wage to protecting our air and water, Chris Larson supports working families on the issues that matter most,” said SEIU janitor Amicar Zapata. “Chris will fight to build a Milwaukee County that works for all working people, not just the wealthy and well-connected.”
“Throughout his career, Chris Larson has stood up to corporate interests and fought for working Milwaukeeans,” said SEIU Wisconsin State Council President Brenda Frary. “The healthcare workers, janitors and security officers of the SEIU Wisconsin State Council will work hard to make Chris our next Milwaukee County Executive so that together we can fight for racial, immigrant, environmental and economic justice for all working families, no matter our background or where we come from.”
While wealthy special interests try to divide them against each other, working people are coming together in union to win higher wages, better benefits and a better future with SEIU.
