SEIU Missouri/Kansas State Council Celebrates Tishaura Jones’ Decisive Victory in St. Louis Mayoral Primary

ST. LOUIS – The following is a statement from SEIU janitor Barbara Dace regarding Treasurer Tishaura O. Jones’ resounding victory in tonight’s St. Louis nonpartisan mayoral primary after winning the highest approval vote:

“Essential janitors, healthcare workers and more who have been working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic cast a decisive vote today for Tishaura O. Jones. Tishaura is a proven leader, spending her career standing up against wealthy special interests and fighting alongside working people for a $15 living wage.

“From closing the Workhouse to protecting our airport to fighting for a $15 wage, working families trust Tishaura to build a city that works for all of us - no matter the color of our skin or the neighborhood we live in.

“The essential workers of SEIU congratulate Tishaura on her primary victory, and we are ready to make sure she wins again on April 6.”
