SEIU Essential Workers SAY YES to Tishaura for Mayor
Maureen Sims cleans the Wells Fargo building in St. Louis and has worked as a janitor for 16 years. She lives with her daughter and grandchildren in the city’s Gravois Park neighborhood, working to help put food on the table and provide a better future for her family.
Last year, Maureen and nearly 2,000 fellow janitors were fighting for a strong new contract and One St. Louis - $15 and good union jobs for all to make the region more equitable across racial lines. Maureen, alongside more than 100 other janitors and allies, marched through downtown St. Louis demanded a fair new contract, with Treasurer Tishaura Jones joining them in their fight.
Maureen is saying yes to Tishaura O. Jones for mayor because she saw first-hand how she stands with St. Louis working families, not wealthy special interests and billionaires. “Actions speak louder than words,” she says, “Tishaura showed up for us, and we’re ready to show up for her on March 2.”
